Mountain Bike Family fun day
Tracker and Jacaranda FM present the annual exciting Off the Beat ‘n Track mountain biking and music event set to offer routes for family members of all ages. Rides will occur in a safe and secure environment from; 2km (for kids), 5km, 15km and 35km (for experienced mountain bikers) through the heart of one of Gauteng’s best kept secrets Irene – situated almost halfway between Pretoria and Johannesburg.
Off the Beat ‘n Track is a spectacular annual event which combines music, family and sport to create a space where audiences can engage with their families to enjoy the amazing outdoors of the South African landscape, while being entertained by celebrated musicians.

We take hydration seriously, so there will be water points on the 35km, 15km and 5km events, but don’t forget to fill your camel packs and water bottles before heading off.
We will have a few food trucks selling gourmet food at the venue but you can bring your own picnic basket to enjoy after the ride. There will be a beer garden for your enjoyment at the finish area. Please note that no open fires will be permitted and no alcohol will be allowed into the event.

Race Pack Collections:
35km (No under 12years): NO HELMET NO RIDE
A route created for the more experienced, fitter rider as well as those who want to step up from the 15km distance. The route begins with +-2km dual track, before leading onto exciting single track (With some space to overtake). The single track takes you through grasslands with towering Blue Gum trees lining the route and some exciting obstacles. Overall riders can expect a fast trail with exciting but manageable technical sections (humps and cross over bridges) the 35km ride will have a variety of dual and single tracks throughout. The gradient of the race is mostly mild, with the occasional medium climb to keep you honest.
15km (No under 9 years): NO HELMET NO RIDE
A fun and very manageable route that begins with +-2km deep track, before leading onto exciting single track through open grasslands and forests . The trail is manageable for beginners and intermediate riders. Parents and children will have a fun time together. The overall gradient of the route is very mild.
5km Family ride with kids (No under 5 years): NO HELMET NO RIDE
A fun and very manageable route for parents and older kids, that begins with +-2km dual track, before leading onto exciting single track through open grass lands , the route has some playful hills to keep the fun levels.
2km 4- 5 years only (No under 4 years): NO HELMET NO RIDE
A gentle route designed so that parents can run/walk alongside their children.

No, as long as they have a helmet and closed shoes on.

- 2km – 4 – 5 years only (parents can run/walk alongside)
Must my child wear a helmet?
